CRPF constable hits officer in West Delhi camp

A brawl today broke out at a CRPF camp here when a constable allegedly hit his senior officer with an iron rod.

Officials said the incident occured late this evening at the Jharoda Kalan camp of the paramilitary force in West Delhi when a CRPF constable, along with two others, hit an Assistant Commandant (AC) rank officer during the brawl.

"According to preliminary reports, the brawl between the officer and the constable erupted because of some personal problems between the two.

An official inquiry will be conducted," official sources said.

Police officials said while the incident has been reported to the local police station, no FIR has been lodged till now.
 

Sources said the constable hit the officer after they had an heated argument over an alleged sexual harrassment complaint filed by the wife of the Assistant Commandant sometime back against some officials and other ranks of the paramilitary.

The injured officer has been identified as Satish Sihag and admitted to a local hospital. He is reported to be out of danger.

Senior officials of the Northern Range of the force have reached the spot to take stock of the situation.
