CRPF Commandant D N Lal told reporters that the body of 40-year-old jawan, Ram Narayan Singh, was found in his room at the camp under Barwadih police station.
The jawan had gone on a day's leave on the occasion of Holi early last month, but he returned only last night.
Singh took the assault rifle from one of his colleagues and shot himself in the chest around noon, Lal added.
Prima facie, it appeared that some family dispute was behind the incident, he added. PTI COR PVR NN
