CRPF official dies of dengue

A 27-year-old CRPF official today succumbed to dengue at a hospital in neighbouring Noida, where he was admitted for treatment a few days ago.

Sources said Assistant Sub-Inspector Jitendra Kumar was admitted to a private hospital on September 9 with dengue-like symptoms and he breathed his last in the evening.

Kumar, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad, was posted in the northen sector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) headquarterd here.

"Kumar was admitted for dengue treatment and he could not be saved. Senior officials of the force and his colleagues from the unit have reached the hospital for performing hospital formalities," a senior official said.
 

The country's largest central police force had seen a few deaths from dengue in this year.

Delhi and its adjoining areas are lately witnessing a spurt in the cases of the vector-borne disease leading to deaths, especially of children in the capital in the last few days.
