A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel was injured in the explosion of a 'pressure bomb' planted by Naxals in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Bijapur district today, police said.

The incident took place in Mahadev Ghati area under Bijapur police station limits this morning when an ROP (road opening party) of CRPF's 229th battalion was on patrolling duty, a police official told PTI.

As the CRPF team was moving through the Ghati, which is around 450 km from here, inspector Bhim Singh stepped on a pressure IED (improvised explosive device) connection, triggering the blast.

"Singh sustained minor splinter injuries in the right hand," the official said.

He was taken to the Bijapur district hospital and his condition was said to be normal.
