A CRPF team targeted by Naxals in Chhattisgarh seemed to have ignored Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), leading to the killing of 25 personnel in the ambush.
Home Ministry officials said initial reports from the ground indicated that the nearly 100-member team did not follow the SOPs which resulted in casualties of such a large number of personnel.
It seemed that they were not adequately trained, otherwise such a tragedy would not have happened, an official said.
