Crude oil futures fell 1.02 per cent to Rs 3,991 per barrel Thursday in line with weak trends in overseas markets.
Crude oil contracts for August delivery traded lower by Rs 41, or 1.02 per cent, at Rs 3,991 per barrel with a business volume of 22,525 lots on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX).
The crude oil contracts for September delivery traded down by Rs 37, or 0.91 per cent, to Rs 4,013 per barrel in a business turnover of 541 lots.
Analysts said the fall in oil prices was mostly in tune with a weak trend in global market.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate was down 1.54 per cent to USD 57.68, while global benchmark Brent was down 1.31 per cent to USD 64.20 a barrel.
