Crude oil was trading higher 0.55 per cent to Rs 4,533 per barrel in futures market today as speculators created fresh bets amid mixed cues from Asian markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in June rose by Rs 25, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 4,533 per barrel in a business turnover of 889 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in July traded higher by Rs 24, or 0.53 per cent, to Rs 4,545 per barrel in 16 lots.

Analysts said speculators built fresh positions after Brent oil prices rose in mixed Asian trade. This led to a rise in crude oil prices in futures trade here.

Meanwhile, Brent crude rose 33 cents, or 0.44 per cent to USD 75.63 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate down USD 1.08, or 1.59 per cent to USD 66.80 a barrel.
