Crude oil prices on Thursday rose 1.06 per cent to Rs 3,921 per barrel as speculators created fresh positions on spot demand.
Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude prices higher in futures trade here.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude for delivery in November traded higher by Rs 41, 1.06 per cent, at Rs 3,921 per barrel in 20,637 lots.
Crude oil for December was up by Rs 38, or 0.97 per cent, at Rs 3,941 per barrel in 641 lots.
Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 0.18 per cent to USD 55.16 per barrel and Brent Crude slipped 0.15 per cent to USD 60.70 per barrel in New York.
