Crude oil futures fell by 0.77 per cent to Rs 4,367 per barrel today as speculators reduced positions amid a weakening trend overseas.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in April traded Rs 34, or 0.77 per cent, lower at Rs 4,367 per barrel in 2,472 lots.

The oil for delivery in May also moved down Rs 33, or 0.75 per cent, to Rs 4,375 per barrel in 341 lots.

The trading sentiment dampened in futures trade after oil prices eased in Asian trade amid profit-booking by participants at higher levels, analysts said.

Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was down 59 cents, or 0.88 per cent, to USD 66.80, while Brent crude fell 73 cents, or 1.01 per cent, to USD 71.85 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
