Crude palm oil futures edge up 0.4% on global cues

Continuing with gains for the second straight day, crude palm oil prices advanced 0.40 per cent to Rs 455.80 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators ramped up positions, taking positive cues from global markets.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in May advanced Rs 1.80, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 455.80 per 10 kg in business turnover of 74 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in June contracts traded higher by Rs 1.30, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 457.50 per 10 kg in 54 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in crude palm oil prices in futures trade to a firming trend in global markets.
 

Meanwhile, palm oil rose 0.4 per cent to 2,204 ringgit (USD 609) a metric tonne on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives in yesterday's trade.
