Crude palm oil extends weakness

Prices fall further by 0.48%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Crude palm oil prices fell further by 0.48% to Rs 458.50 per 10 kg in futures trade today, dragged down by sluggish demand in the spot market.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in June declined by Rs 2.20, or 0.48%, to Rs 458.50 per 10 kg in a business turnover of 124 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in July contracts fell by a similar margin to trade at Rs 459.30 per 10 kg in 39 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators, triggered by subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stock position, mainly kept pressure on crude palm oil prices.
