Crude palm oil prices gained 0.59 per cent to Rs 446.90 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions after demand picked up in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in January next year moved up by Rs 2.60, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 446.90 per 10 kg in a business turnover of 206 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in December edged higher by Rs 2.10, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 439.80 per 10 kg in 418 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by participants, driven by pick-up in demand in the spot market against tight supplies from producing belts, mainly led to the rise in crude palm oil prices at futures trade.
