Crude palm oil prices rose 0.21 per cent to Rs 563 per 10 kg in futures market today as participants built up fresh positions amid pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in January edged Rs 1.20, or 0.21 per cent, higher to Rs 563 per 10 kg in a business turnover of 126 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in February contracts was trading higher by 70 paise, or 0.12 per cent, at Rs 565.60 per 10 kg in 49 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by participants after upsurge in demand in the physical market against restricted supplies from producing regions influenced crude palm oil prices.
