Crude palm oil rises 0.41% as demand picks up

Traders build positions as restricted supplies from producing belts support uptrend

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Crude palm oil prices rose by 0.41 per cent to Rs 460.80 per 10 kg in futures trading today as participants indulged in creating fresh positions due to pick-up in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in February rose by Rs 1.90, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 460.80 per 10 kg in a business turnover of 124 lots.

The March contract edged up by 80 paise, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 464.30 per 10 kg in 146 lots.

Marketmen said speculative positions built up by participants after demand picked up in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to rise in crude palm oil prices at futures trade.
