Crude palm oil prices were up by 0.47 per cent to Rs 649.80 per 10 kgs in futures trade today as speculators created more bets, driven by a firm demand at the spot market.
Besides, a firming trend in overseas markets supported the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in April rose by Rs 3.10, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 649.80 per 10 kgs, in a business turnover of 186 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in this month's contracts went up by Rs 1.90, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 641.10 per 10 kgs in 218 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by participants amid pick-up in demand in the spot market against tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing regions kept crude palm oil prices higher in futures trade.
