Crude palm oil prices rose 1.33 per cent to Rs 441.40 per 10 kg in evening session in futures trade today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions supported by pick up in demand in the spot market.

The exchange opened for evening session as it remained closed for morning session on account of "Budha Purnima".

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in May rose by Rs 5.80, or 1.33 per cent, to Rs 441.40 per 10 kg in business turnover of 209 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in June was up by Rs 5, or 1.13 per cent, to Rs 444.10 per 10 kg in 43 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators on pick-up in demand in the spot market mainly led to rise in crude palm oil prices at futures trade.
