Crude palm oil prices rose 0.82 per cent to Rs 528 per 10 kg in futures trade Wednesday as speculators increased positions amid a firm demand at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in March contracts rose by Rs 4.30, or 0.82 per cent, to Rs 528 per 10 kg in a business turnover of 3,179 lots.
The oil for delivery in April contracts went up by a similar margin to trade at Rs 531.70 per 10 kg in a business turnover of 252 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by participants, amid pick-up in demand at the spot market against tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing regions, kept crude palm oil prices higher at futures trade.
