Crude palm oil futures traded 1.13 per cent higher at Rs 401.90 per 10 kg as speculators created fresh positions supported by rising demand at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for October rose by Rs 4.50, or 1.13 per cent, to Rs 401.90 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of 91 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in September moved up by Rs 1.60, or 0.39 per cent, to Rs 405.10 per 10 kg, with a business volume of 86 lots.

Analysts said speculators creating fresh positions on the back of pick-up in spot demand mainly led to the rise in crude palm oil prices at futures trade.
