Crude palm oil futures prices were up 0.28 per cent to Rs 472.20 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions on hopes of higher demand in the spot market in the beginning of festive season.
Restricted arrivals from the major producing belts also supported the trading sentiments, traders said.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for September contracts rose by Rs 1.30, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 472.20 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of 15 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in October was up by 80 paise, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 461.90 per 10 kg, with a business volume of 54 lots.
