A Delhi court today rejected the demand of the police for two- day custodial interrogation of AAP MLAs Amantullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal, arrested in connection with the alleged assault on Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash.

Metropolitan Magistrate Shefali Barnala Tandon refused the plea of the Delhi Police and posted for hearing the bail petition of the two MLAs at 4:30 pm. The court will decide whether to grant them bail or sent to judicial custody.

The details of the reasons for denying the police custody of the two legislators were not immediately available.

The two MLAs were produced before the court amid tight security, in the presence of a large number of AAP workers.

While Jarwal was arrested last night, Khan was taken into custody this afternoon.
