CS row: AAP demands action against officers for violating service rules

The AAP today demanded action against IAS officers for allegedly "violating service conduct rules" and expressed apprehension that their agitation was part of a "big conspiracy" against the Arvind Kejriwal dispensation in the city.

The party alleged that the bureaucrats are indulging in political bickering which it said is against the service rules.

Senior party leader Ashutosh said two AAP MLAs were arrested following a complaint of Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash over alleged assault on him, but there is still no action against those who had "attacked" Delhi minister Imran Hussain.

"It is clear from the Service Conduct Rules, government's officers cannot give political statements. Neither do they participate in any strike nor protest like activities.
 

"Senior officers cannot give political statements, but despite this, officers are indulging in political statements against AAP government and the chief minister through Twitter and Facebook and are making political attacks while using government offices," he said.

The party has posed six questions to agitating officers, asking them that at whose behest they were boycotting meetings with AAP ministers despite the fact that the matter is sub-judice.

"No senior officer has uttered a word against the recent attack on the minister as of now. As per service conduct rules, government officers cannot indulge in giving political statements, but they are doing. On whose behest officers are doing this?" he said.

The party also demanded registration of cases against officers and examination of their call details to ascertain whom they talked to, wondering whether the officers in touch with BJP leaders.

Yesterday, the Aam Aadmi Party accused Lt Governor Anil Baijal, Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash and the IAS Association of hatching a "conspiracy" to attack Hussain.

Since the alleged assault on Prakash last week, officers have been boycotting meetings with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his cabinet colleagues and only maintaining written communication with them.
