CSTC launches Wi-Fi enabled buses in city

Calcutta State Transport Corporation (CSTC) today launched 4G Wi-Fi enabled air-conditioned buses in the city on a pilot basis on two routes.

Launching the 'Smart Wi-Fi Bus' here, state transport minister Madan Mitra said Kolkata was the first city in the country to have such services.

Initially, the two routes would be Airport-Golf Green and Airport-Garia, connecting the north and the south of the city.

The Wi-Fi services would be provided by Airtel.

Initially, there would be no charges for availing of the Wi-Fi services for a period of one month and each passenger would get two free sessions of Internet browsing of 30 minutes each.
