In the heart of Miami's Little Havana, Cuban exiles say today's funeral of Fidel Castro is granting neither simple closure nor optimism for immediate change.

But they say it represents a glimmer of hope for democracy in Cuba.

Sipping espresso at the Versailles restaurant, 76-year-old Armando Garcia says Castro's death represents "a light at end of the tunnel."

The older generations of Cuban exiles have generally backed a hard line toward US relations with the island, including an embargo and strict limits on engagement, but that view has softened among the younger generation.

Giancarlo Sopo, who helps arrange trips for younger Cuban-Americans to the island, says Castro has dominated people's perception of the island but that he hopes they can now think more about the other people living there.
