Visitors to the Tata Steel Zoological Society (TSZS) are getting a form to be filled in with their suggestions.

"Their names would be selected through a lottery on October 7 from among the names suggested in the duly filled-in forms," TSZS director Bipul Chakraborty said today.

The process started sometime back and about 600 visitors had given their suggestions.

Chakraborty said the motive behind the project was to involve people in naming the lion and tiger cubs.

Five lions cubs -- two male and three female, all about one year old -- were presented to TSZS by the National Zoological Gardens of Pretoria in June.

The lone tiger cub to be named was born of tigress Shanti in the Zoo in April.
