Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh today said that cultural events should be used to create jobs and promote tourism in the state.
"Folk festivals need to be popularised and cultural events should generate jobs for needy and promote tourism," Singh said.
He was addressing a joint meeting of Governing Body and Executive Board of West Zone Cultural Centre at Udaipur.

"Folk festivals' information should be sent to all states and Union territories head and culture departments for better participation of talents and people attached with heritage," he said.
Goa's Art and Culture Minister Dayanand Mandrekar, Kendriya Lalit Kala Academy Chairman Kalayan Kumar Chakravarti, Union Culture Ministry's Joint Secretary Arvind Manjeet Singh and Rajasthan's Principal Secretary Art and Culture S K Agrawal also attended the event.
