Cultural meet to be held in Vamanjoor

A state-level conference on 'Modern day crisis-Cultural response', Sangama Sambhrama-2015, would be held at the Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama, Vamanjoor near here on July 25 and 26.

The conference is being jointly organised by the Kannada and Culture Department, Bengaluru and the Karnataka Tulu, Konkani and Beary sahitya academies.

Addressing a press meet here today, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Roy Castelino, Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy president B A Mohammed Haneef and Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy president Janaki Brahmavar said the Sangama was aimed at promoting the art, language, literature and culture of Karnataka.

Castelino said cultural teams from various parts of the state would participate in the inaugural procession. Minister for Kannada and culture and women and child development Umashree and scholars from across the state would attend the conference on the inaugural day.
 

Cultural programmes by Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy, Karnataka Folk Academy, and Karnataka Nataka Academy would be held during the two day event, the organizers said.
