Curfew clamped in most parts of Srinagar

Authorities today imposed curfew in nine police station areas of the city apprehending law and order problems as separatist groups have called for protests and general strike tomorrow to press for the demand for return of the body of Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru.
Curfew has been imposed in nine police stations in the city as a precautionary measure, a police spokesman said.
He said the police station areas include Nowhatta, Rainawari, Nigeen, Lal Bazaar, Safakadal, Maharajgunj, Khanyar, Shaheedgunj and Maisuma.
Both factions of Hurriyat Conference and JKLF have called for strike and protests tomorrow.
Afzal was hanged and buried inside Tihar Jail in Delhi on February 9.
