Curfew lifted in riot-hit Indore locality

Curfew was today lifted in the violence-hit Chandan Nagar locality here following the return of normalcy after recent clashes there, police sources said.

The area was brought under curfew on Aug. 20 after group clashes.

Although the curfew was lifted after eight days, police personnel are still deployed in the area as a precautionary measure, they said.

Curfew was clamped in the Chandan Nagar area on Aug.20 after violence broke out over the recovery of a cow carcass.

Nearly 50 people, including 20 police personnel, were injured in the stone pelting and clashes.
