A procession of the Sikh community on the eve of birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev was taken out in a peaceful manner today during relaxation hours, Deputy Commissioner, J Ganesan, said.
The district administration had made all necessary security arrangements for the 'Nagar Kirtan', which passed off peacefully, he said.
Ganesan said life was returning to normal and no untoward incident was reported from anywhere.
Night curfew will continue, he said.
Apart from Police personnel, five companies of CRPF were deputed, he said.
Curfew was clamped in most parts of the city on November 24 after the clash in which 12 persons were injured and six vehicles set ablaze near Balmiki Chowk when some Sikhs were on their way back from a meeting in Gurdwara Dashmi Patshahi.
