The curfew at Nagaur district's Sanvrad village was relaxed for over five hours today after the situation improved since Wednesday when a mob clashed with police after a condolence meet for slain gangster Anandpal Singh.

The situation remained peaceful and under control in the village. The curfew was relaxed from 10.30 am to 2 pm and 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, ADM (Didwana) Chhagan Lal Goyal said.

The family members of Anandpal also conducted a condolence meeting, the officer said.

The curfew was imposed after a man died and 32 people, mostly policemen, were injured in the clash.

Violence broke out after a condolence meeting at the village which was attended by a large number of Rajput community people.

Anandpal Singh was killed in an encounter by police on June 24 at a village in Churu district.
