Currency shortage in treasuries in Kerala continues

: Currency shortage in treasuries in Kerala continued for the second consecutive day today, affecting disbursements of salaries and pensions to government employees.

The state treasuries had requested Rs 103 crore and received only Rs 49 crore from RBI and Agency banks, an official release said here.

Currency shortage was severe in treasuries at Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Kottayam,Palakkad,Kannur and Kozhikode, the release said.
