Customs officials seize gold worth Rs 13.22 lakh

The Customs officials today seized 483 grams of gold worth Rs 13.22 lakh in separate cases from two passengers at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here.

Based on specific intelligence, Customs officers of the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) at the airport seized the yellow metal from two passengers who arrived from Damam and Jeddah by two flights, a Customs official said.

"While one passenger had concealed the gold in his valet another had concealed the gold in a specially made pocket to the undergarment," the official said.

Further probe is on.
