Customs seize gold bars worth Rs 17.56 lakh from passenger

Customs officials today seized 566 grams of gold bars worth Rs 17.56 lakh from a passenger at the Rajiv Gandhi International (RGI) airport in Shamshabad here.

On suspicion, the customs officials intercepted a passenger, Khaja Saleemuddin Shareef of Warangal, who arrived by a flight from Dubai at 1.30 AM.

During detailed search, five gold bars weighing 566.56 grams concealed in his shoes were found, an official said.
