Customs seizes gold worth Rs 92 lakh from Delhi airport lavatory

Gold worth about Rs 92 lakh was seized today by customs officials from a toilet at Delhi airport, according to an official statement.

During regular cleaning of toilet, a cleaner found a small black colour polythene bag at the shelf of a toilet cabin, it said.

He informed the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the customs officials.

"The polythene bag was opened and three gold bars totally weighing three kgs were recovered. The gold, valued at Rs 92.19 lakh, has been seized," the statement issued by the customs said.
