The government has cut the number of copies of notes to be sent by ministries for consideration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Cabinet and its committees.

As per latest directive issued by Cabinet Secretariat, the ministries need to send at least 50 copies in Hindi and English besides additional copies equivalent to the number of departments consulted in the matter for consideration of the Cabinet.

Earlier, they were to send 60 such copies.

Similarly, the ministries now need to send 40 and 25 copies in Hindi and English of notes for consideration of Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) and Cabinet Committee on Accommodation, respectively.

They were to send 45 such copies earlier.

There has been no change in the number of copies to be sent for the consideration of Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) and Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) and they would continue to send 30 and 20 copies respectively to the Cabinet Secretariat.

All secretaries of the central government departments have been asked to ensure compliance of its directive.
