The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is awaiting sanction from different departments for more than four months to prosecute over 50 officials, including from IAS and IPS, for their alleged involvement in corruption.
As per the norms, sanction for prosecution has to be decided within four months time.
Of the total of 28 cases involving 53 officials, a maximum of six such cases are pending in Delhi Jal Board (DJB), four with Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, three with Ministry of Home Affairs and two each in Ministry of Railways and Bank of India among others, according to the latest data by the CVC.

"Departments have been regularly reminded of pending cases of sanction of prosecution. We will again write to them to expedite the matter," a senior CVC official said.
A list carrying name and designation of these officials has also been put up on the CVC's website.
Some of the cases, awaiting sanction for prosecution, were registered by CBI almost three years ago.
