Cyberabad Police today opened a new unit that will keep a record of interrogation reports, photographs and finger prints of offenders involved in property and heinous crimes.
"Central Criminal Data Collection Centre (CCDCC)" will act as one-stop facility for information related to such offenders and help in tracking their activities and preventing them from escaping law after repeating their offence.
The concept behind the centre, set up at the Cyberabad Police Commissioner office here, is to collect unified data of arrested offenders of property and heinous crimes.

The centre will share the information with other police stations/units and agencies so as to prevent them from escaping after committing similar offences, according to an official release.
In many instances, the addresses and details given by the arrested offenders have been found to be false or fake. Hereafter, the police will verify the addresses and details before producing them in the court, it said.
Police will verify addresses of such offenders, apprehended within Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits, on Google Maps and relevant portion of the map will be recorded in the new unit for future tracking.
Call detail records (CDR), if any, of the offenders will also be maintained by the unit for future verification, the release added.
