Cycle rally to spread awareness about environmental pollution

The rally started from Colonelganj area near Anand Bhavan and concluded at Civil Lines area.

The cyclists, many of whom were students, chanted slogan 'cycle chalao paryavaran bachao' (ride the bicycle to save the environment) during the rally.

Earlier, inaugurating the rally, Municipal Commissioner Prem Nath Dubey hailed the effort and said, "residents of the city, who are now faced with an an ever-increasing problem of traffic congestion and atmospheric pollution, must seriously consider the option of cycling for short distances."

Students also expressed enthusiasm over the initiative and one of them said, "riding a bicycle is always fun. Parking a cycle is also so much simpler and easier. Since it requires no fuel, it is easy on the pocket".
