State-run aircraft maker Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has appointed D K Venkatesh as Director (Engineering and R&D).
Earlier, he was holding the charge of the same post as Officer on Special Duty (OSD), HAL said in a release.
The post of Engineering and R&D Director is newly created as a part ofrestructuring of HAL's Board with effect from April 1, 2015.

Paytm partners with ICICI Bank to launch virtual prepaid card * Mobile payments and commerce platform Paytm today said it has tied up with ICICI Bank to launch a co-branded virtual prepaid card.
This will be linked to the user's Paytm Wallet enabling them to pay at a much wider set of merchants from the balance on their Paytm Wallet, Paytm said in a statement.
DCB Bank ties up with TVS Credit for pushing retail loans
* Small size private sector lender DCB Bank today said it has tied up with a non-bank lender promoted by south-based TVS Group for expanding its retail loan book.
Initially, the alliance with TVS Credit Services will focus on car loans and expand in to other retail loans and banking products, it said in a statement.
The tie-up will help the bank build a strong retail book and augment the fee income for the non-bank lender.
"It is a unique arrangement and we believe it will deliver immense benefit to both entities in the years to come," DCB Bank MD and Chief Executive Murali Natrajan said.

Ujaas Energy bags EPC order of 10 MW worth Rs 91.78 cr * Ujaas Energy today said it has bagged an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order worth Rs 91.78 crore for 10 MW canal bank grid connected solar power plant at Vadodara from Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited.
"It (about the order) has been intimated to Ujaas through letter of acceptance-cum work order issued by Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited. The approximate amount of the work is Rs 91.78 crore," the company said in BSE filing.
BMW launches petrol version of 5 Series priced at Rs 54 lakh
* German luxury car maker BMW today launched the petrol version of its 5 Series sedan in India priced at Rs 54 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
With the launch of the BMW 520i, the BMW 5 Series sedan is now available across the country in both petrol and diesel, the company said in a statement.
The new BMW 520i is available at all BMW dealerships as a CBU (Completely built-up) unit from today onwards, it added.
With this, the new BMW 5 Series portfolio consists of two diesel engines (520d and 530d) which are locally produced in Chennai and a petrol engine (520i) available as CBU (Completely built-up) unit.

Reliance Foundation supplies water to drought-hit villages * Reliance Foundation today said it is supplying potable drinking water to the drought-hit villages of Marathwada after identifying 100 most distressed villages in the districts of Latur, Hingoli, Jalna and Nanded.
In 23 days, RF's 'Mission Rahat - Marathwada' has reached out to more than 100 villages, providing two to four tankers of water per village per day, it said.
So far, more than 20 million litres of water has supplied to 2 lakh people, deploying as many as 3,990 tankers in May, it said.
