A case of amassing disproportionate assets worth Rs 1.55 crore was registered Thursday against a former director of the Maharashtra Council Of Agriculture Education And Research (MCAER) and his family members, an ACB official said.

The Pune unit of the ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau) registered the offence against the former director Suresh Ambulgekar, his wife and their 30-year-old son, he said.

The ACB suspects Ambulgekar collected DA between his tenure from July 1980 to June 2014, he said, adding that an open enquiry was conducted by the Pune ACB into the matter.

The ACB has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
