Defence Ministry's top acquisition council today finalised the annexure chapters of the new Defence Procurement Procedure (DPP) that seeks to push indigenous defence industry by offering a more robust and clearer policies.

The only chapter that is left now is the part related to the controversial strategic partnership.

Once decided, it will require the approvals of the Finance Ministry and the Cabinet Committee on Security.

India had announced its new weapons procurement policy on March 28 and it came into effect from April 1. It will supersede the 2013 DPP.
