suspect in the recent shooting of two panchayat members, was apprehended by police at Kamrup Rural district of Assam today, police said.
The dacoit, Pasnoor Ali, was picked up by a police team from Dimu under Rangia subdivision.
Ali is suspected of being involved in shooting of two village panchayat representatives and decamping with Rs 2.60 lakh on October 5 from Agiathuri area.
The two panchayat representatives are still in hospital.
The police had earlier arrested eight other people involved in the shooting and looting.
Meanwhile, in another incident, Rangia police nabbed five persons involved in illegal betting racket. The arrests were made during two separate raids at Rangia and Puthimari today.
