The man accused of killing his five young children and dumping their bodies along a rural road is on the way to his home state to face murder charges.

32-year-old Timothy Ray Jones Jr. Was loaded into an unmarked vehicle today and was leaving Mississippi for South Carolina.

Police say Jones was compliant while in Mississippi and is now in the hands of South Carolina authorities. Officials there have said he faces five murder charges. His children were ages 1 to 8.

He was arrested in Mississippi at a traffic checkpoint Saturday and eventually led authorities to the children's bodies in Alabama.

On Thursday, he wore a striped jail uniform and protective vest as he was escorted into the SUV. Officials also loaded up boxes of evidence.
