The Haryana government has decided to raise daily diet money of police sports persons from a paltry Rs 50 to Rs 150.

The diet money is given to the sports persons during tournaments and camps.

The state government has taken significant initiatives to provide maximum facilities and incentives to the sports persons so that they can bring laurels to the nation in different sports events, a spokesman of the police department said.

Haryana Director General of Police, B S Sandhu, said such a hike would not only boost the morale of police players, but also increase their chances of winning medals in the games.

The DGP extended his good wishes on the auspicious occasion of Diwali to the police officers and officials as well as people of the state. He urged them to celebrate a cracker-free Diwali this year.
