Dairy farmers in some villages in Karur district today poured hundreds of litres of milk on the road here protesting state cooperative milk society (AAVIN) units reportedly stopping procurement of milk from them, officials said.
Some dairy farmers of Chinnadharapuram and ten surrounding villages had brought their milk cans to the AAVIN units here but found the offices locked.
Some staff members reportedly told them that the society was asked not to procure milk from them following which they poured the milk on the road in protest.
Recently, dairy farmers in some villages in Salem district also poured the milk on the streets in protest when AAVIN did not procure milk from them.
