Dairy farming event to be inaugurated on September 5

The fourth edition of 'Dairy Show' is scheduled to be organised here in association with the Animal Husbandry Department of the Telangana government and Active Exhibitions and Conferences from September 5, it was officially announced here today.

Active Group's Director P S L N Rao told reporters that the three-day show will be inaugurated on September 5 by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali and Minister for Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development Corp Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.

The objective of the event is to educate dairy farmers as well as dairy entrepreneurs about latest trends and technology, Rao said, adding that the highlight of the fourth edition of the event would be indigenous Indian breeds of buffaloes and cows, he said.
 

Over 100 exhibitors will participate and showcase high yielding animal breeds, indigenous breeds, mechanised milking equipments, equipments for animal farms, cleaning and hygiene equipments, farm level storage and processing equipments, kits, animal feed, vaccines, banking as well as insurance, he said.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Progressive Dairy Farmers' Association (PDFA) General Secretary K Bal Reddy urged the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India to conduct regular checks by collecting milk samples to check adulteration of milk.

PDFA president Jithendar Reddy also urged the government to consider dairy farmers on par with farmers.
