Dakshina Kannada records 17th COVID-19 positive case

A 75-year-old woman from

Bantwal and a relative of the woman, who died of COVID-19 here on April 19, tested positive for the virus on Thursday, official sources said.

This is the 17th positive case reported in Dakshina Kannada district.

The woman, who was being treated at a private hospital after she suffered a stroke on April 18, has been shifted to the intensive care unit of the designated COVID-19 Wenlock hospital after her swab test turned out to be positive for the virus.

Another woman, 67, who is the immediate neighbour of the deceased, had also tested positive and is under treatment here.

 

Four people with coronavirus infection are currently under treatment at the Wenlock hospital.

Earlier, 12 patients were discharged after recovery and one woman died of the infection.
