Dal Khalsa mourns Mandela's death

Deeply saddened by the death of former South African President Nelson Mandela, Dal Khalsa today paid tribute to the anti-apartheid leader saying that the leader changed the course of history in that country.

Praising Mandela's personal modesty and moral courage, radical Sikh outfit Dal Khalsa secretary for political affairs Kanwar Pal Singh said members of the party takes inspiration from the work of the anti-apartheid icon and admires his knowledge, wisdom and statesmanship.

Terming him as a "master tactician" and "world's greatest moral leader", he hailed the founding father of non-racial democratic South Africa, who is credited with delivering "freedom to born slaves".
 

Defining his one of the rarest leadership quality, Knawar said, "Mandela liberated a country from a system of violent prejudice and helped unite the white and black, oppressor and oppressed, in a way that had never been done before.
