Khalsa head H S Dhami alleged the move was to "shield the wrong doings of the Dera Beas Radha Soami Sect management".

"The decision is so vague and generalised that it would set wrong precedent. There is a lot of grey area for manoeuvring and mischief in Jathedars' latest decision," he said.

In response to Jathedars' directive to all Sikh groups to "fall in line", he said their group was committed to uphold Akhal Takht's honour and supremacy.

However, the working and conduct of its Jathedars' was never above question, he said.

The Akal Takht had yesterday said, "Non-historical places of the community could be moved to another place as per the needs and requirements of the local people."
