Dalit woman sexually harassed on pretext of marriage

A Dalit woman was allegedly sexually harassed by a man for over two years on the pretext of marriage in Khatoli town here.

The woman, a beautician by profession, complained that one Sanjay Verma sexually harassed her for over two years by promising that he will marry her, police said.

On the basis of her complaint, a case was registered against the accused yesterday, they said.

The victim has been sent for medical examination, police said, adding that an investigation is underway in the matter.

In a separate incident, two youths were booked for eve-teasing a 30-year-old woman at Palda village under Shahpur police station here yesterday while she was returning home.
 

Security has been tightened in the area as the victim and accused belong to different communities, police said.

On her complaint, a case was registered against the accused Ragib and Razi who are absconding, they added.
